La Luna Lädeli goes to Nyon! March 02 2018

La Luna Lädeli starts to travel to the French part of Switzerland!

I am extremely happy to be able to spend 3 days in Nyon at the Café Ex Machina, together with my friends Banu, Rui and Denis who have created a wonderful meeting space where to enjoy a good atmosphere, with excellent coffees, yummy cakes and fresh lunch.

I will be at the space before the entrance, with a selection of La Luna Lädeli treasures. The main focus of this Pop-Up is my big collection of hand-woven shawls all made in the context of social projects that secure ethical working conditions. I will have my computer with me, in case you are interested in seeing pictures of my visits to the weavers and hearing their stories.

You will have the chance to see, touch, feel and try hand-woven shawls in many possible materials (cotton, silk, linen, wool, cashmere...), colors and styles, all woven by skilled artisans in India and Nepal, and designed by young designers that bring a modern esthetic to a traditional craft.

Only a very small selection from one of the projects, WomenWeave, is available here online more as a sampler, as I believe that such a thing cannot be properly appreciated and chosen only through a picture. You have to feel it!
You can also check some more pictures of shawls in the Discussion section of the event on Facebook.

I will also bring the bamboo utensil sets that I believe everyone should have in their bags to avoid the use of plastic utensils.

The Love Travel Guides to India will also be available if you are considering exploring India and its crafts!

Possibly, if there is interest, I will bring a selection of Goddesswear Corduroy pants so that you can try them out and know your size and cut. If you plan to go and already know which pants you would like, let me know and I can bring them!

If you are from around there, it's a great chance to see you and get to see our products, and if you are from anywhere else, it's a great chance for an excursion to Nyon, a beautiful town at the border of the lake of Geneva, enjoying all the yummy goodies the Café Ex Machina has to offer.

I hope to see many of you there!

La Luna Lädeli & Shakti Shuttlez December 10 2017

Once again, La Luna Lädeli & the Shakti Shuttlez are joining forces to create a small community gathering before Christmas!

Saturday, 16th of December 2017 at AIRYOGA Oberdorfstrasse 2, 4th floor

Shopping & Chai: 2-7pm, after 9pm

Sing & Dance: 7-9pm

From 2 pm on come to the small room in the 4th floor to check the beautiful hand-spun and hand-woven shawls from several producers in India & Nepal that care about preserving the craft and give the possibility to the craftspeople to live from this endangered craft. As usual there will be cotton, silk and wool shawls from WomanWeave, that supports marginalized women from rural India. For the first time there will be exquisite cashmere shawls from Sadhu Handmade Naturals. And also a collection of unique two-sided shawls made from upcycled vintage silk saris put together with hand embroidered Kantha.

From 7 pm join the uplifting kirtan and Mantra singing with the Shakti Shutlez. Kirtan is "call and response chanting" from the Indian devotional traditions. You listen to a line and you repeat it. Relax your rational mind and open your heart through singing.
The tone of your own voice, the singing of the whole group and the sound of the instruments connect you to something very ancient: Singing together is one of the oldest human practices.

Afterwards, like always, enjoy some Chai, share and get another chance to check some shawls!

The Kirtan entrance is free but a donation is recommended. The money will be donated to the Pachamama Alliance: www.pachamama.org
