Cotton Khadi Scarf

63.00 CHF

This beautiful scarf was hand-woven with handspun (khadi) locally grown cotton in shades of pink and gray. The two colored threads in different colors combine to form stripes and small checks, creating a beautiful tweed-like texture. The open fringed borders give them an extra-cozy look and feeling.

The width of this piece allows it to be worn as a scarf wrapped around the neck or as a shawl over the shoulders.

This piece was designed by Geeta Patil and produced in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, in the context of the Gudi Mudi Khadi Project from WomenWeave. Gudi Mudi means "scrunched" in the local language, a perfect word to describe the attractive natural look and texture of the textiles produced from this project. The Gudi Mudi Project skills highly marginalized women in the spinning and weaving of locally grown cotton.
